What seemed like a small celebration, turned out to be a heart warming story. Kevin Ford, 54, toiled as a cashier and a cook at Burger King in Las Vegas. His employer wanted to celebrate his 27th anniversary and provided him with a bag of goodies which Kevin was most grateful for.
However, the video of him receiving his gift went viral, for the right reasons. The general public realised he deserved much more, especially when he never missed a day of work. His daughter setup a Gofund me page to really honour and celebrate his remarkable milestone. She wrote:
"He originally began working at this job as a single father when he gained custody of me and my older sister 27 years ago. Then as our family grew and he remarried, he continued to work there because of the amazing health insurance that was provided.”
The original goal was set to $200 however due to the enormous generosity of the people it now currently stands at over $400k.
When asked what he would do with the money, his only focus was to be able to meet his grandkids who he had not seen for 4 years.
This is such a feel good story to share but to also acknowledge when people get together for good, they can make a big difference to each others lives.
